Payment

All of Independence Therapy’s billing is done under “speech therapy” – even feeding therapy falls under the “speech therapy” umbrella.

Independence Therapy is an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and accepts most BCBS plans. We do not accept Medicaid at this time.

Independence Therapy is a certified OON with Tricare West, meaning we can bill Tricare directly for reimbursement with a doctor’s referral for speech/feeding therapy. With a doctor’s referral, there is typically no co-pay for patients – Tricare usually covers the cost fully.

For other insurance plans, Independence Therapy is happy to provide a superbill to submit to your insurance carrier for out of network speech therapy coverage. 

All payment is due at time of service, which is why we require a card on file. For patients who are utilizing BCBS plans, the estimated co-pay provided in the client portal will be charged at time of service; when the claim is received from insurance, we will update in the client portal and charge the difference.
